Our short, two-day stay at Marjorie’s place was the highlight of our whole vacation in the Pacific Nortwest. Marjorie’s place is just magical. Marjorie herself is fantastic, and her place is just a reflection of who she is. The small room is extremely charming, and very clean. It is completely immersed in her garden, up the mountain, surrounded by mature trees, birds, flowers, etc. We spent two excellent nights, followed, every morning, by the discovery of the delicious breakfasts the “forest fairy” had dropped by our patio door. A real treat! After breakfast, Marjorie would treat us to a tour of her garden. Marjorie is quite a character and a delight to interact with. She knows her island extremely well and made excellent recommendations for great hikes, places to visit, and good dinner places. We had a memorable stay. Thank you, Marjorie!
Peaceful, attractive, quiet, and cool. Marjorie’s place exceeds its description and photos. If you enjoy flowers, flocks of birds, great breakfasts, a relaxing location, then this is the place for you. The comfortable deck and picturesque seating areas scattered throughout the flower garden invite you to sip your coffee and forget your problems. Marjorie is attentive without being intrusive. She knows her business.

Many guests have spoken to the details of Marjorie’s place and her hosting. There is no exaggeration. It was everything I hoped for my post cancer, 50th birthday trip. Marjorie hosts with a rare generosity, a spirit of connection, and a persistent thoughtfulness. It mattered to her that we felt welcome, nourished, and joyful on our trip. What a gift it is to feel that kind of care from a ‘stranger!’ We left feeling such a beautiful connection to the island and will be forever grateful. And we’re definitely going back!
From the moment we got to Marjorie’s home, we instantly felt right at home and welcomed with open arms. We are already planning our next trip back, and could not recommend her Airbnb enough! We got on an early ferry over and Marjorie was gracious enough to offer an early check in which allowed for us to enjoy the gardens as we got settled in. You can tell that so much love and care has gone into Marjorie’s home, garden and Airbnb, and no detail was left out. From the fully stocked fridge and snacks, to the locally sourced morning breakfasts, and everything in between. There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sound of birds and watching all of them fly around the garden freely, we even got a few special appearances from a pileated woodpecker and a goldfinch! Marjorie’s home is also in the perfect location for accessing all that Friday Harbor has to offer. Thank you Marjorie, for sharing your peaceful and beautiful home with us. We can’t wait to be back soon!
